MIT AgeLab

New England University Transportation Center Website

The New England University Transportation Center is spearheaded by the MIT AgeLab and focuses its efforts on research, education and technology for all things transportation related in the region.

Getting Started

The team at MIT AgeLab chose Grafton Studio to redesign their website with the aim of producing a modern, clean and responsive design, as their incumbent site had become dated and contained a number of obsolete sections.

Our Approach

Reimagining the site architecture was our primary task in the design phase, as the organization of content had lost shape as the site grew over time. We reorganized the content into three buckets, reflecting the major focuses of the center: research, education and technology.

MIT AgeLab - Our Approach

Using custom templates throughout the site - versus trying to make two or three generic templates fit all purposes - gave the website more personality and allowed users to easily sort and find relevant content, greatly improving the overall user experience.

The Result

Using Craft CMS has allowed MIT AgeLab to load their content quickly, and maintain the site as they go forward without the need of outside help.

The New England University Transportation Center now has an easy to manage website, and a much more polished, customized design which MIT and the other universities in the New England consortium can be proud of.

“Grafton Studio has surpassed my every expectation for a web design firm. Not only are they a lean, responsive team, but they applied the kind of creativity and effort to their work that is typically reserved for a passion project. I couldn't recommend Grafton more highly.”
Joseph Coughlin, Founder/Director, MIT AgeLab
