Web Application - Restaurant Reservation

Hautseet is changing the game in online restaurant booking, giving hungry people the option to pre-order their meals and book particular tables at their favorite restaurants.

They came to us to build a platform to support this innovative idea, which also included allowing restaurant-owners to view bookings and meal pre-orders, add walk-ins and update the status of each table in real-time.

A Little Background

Before seeking major investment and building out their in-house team, Hautseet wanted to test their concept with 25 popular restaurants over a 3 month period. They entrusted us to build their product and avoid of the hassle and investment of hiring a full-time web team.

Our Approach

Identifying that an intuitive flow for the restaurant-goer was fundamental to this product, we implemented a phased booking process for the user, which ensured each screen was simple, concise, and had obvious next steps.

From the restaurant’s view, we focused their design toward the simplification of the management of the restaurant floor, returning focus to real-life customer service. On any given night, the host/hostess can quickly add walk-ins and track the status of tables.

One of the core challenges to this project was building a system that seamlessly displayed data on both views (restaurant-goer and restaurant-owner) in real-time, ensuring zero overlap of bookings. From a development perspective, we custom-built every element of functionality to ensure this was the case, and performed rigorous testing pre-launch.

The Result

We delivered the product on-schedule to Hautseet, who immediately launched it and began to demo the application to restaurant-owners.

“Grafton Studio's communication during the entire process helped demystify all the hard work that goes into building core technology. From design to development of our web app, it was obvious that Grafton Studio was engaged and interested in nurturing and maintaining our relationship post-launch.”
