Burns & Farrey

Website Design and Development

Burns & Farrey is an AV-rated defense law firm with offices in Boston, Worcester, and Providence that focus on the defense of actions seeking damages for personal injury, property losses, commercial disputes and damages arising from the rendering of professional services or the employment relationship.

Background

Burns & Farrey has been established for over 60 years. They approached Grafton Studio to develop a website and corresponding marketing materials that both paid homage to their storied history and represented this modern phase of expansion - a move to a new and improved Boston office as well as continued growth in foreign markets.

Our Approach

Our first concern in the design phase was to rethink the site architecture as important sections were buried in the existing website and not getting the attention they deserved. Before starting design we nailed down a sitemap, ensuring easy navigation to the most critical pages.

It was imperative to reflect the professionalism of the firm but also modernize the look and feel of the site. With the use of updated imagery (including representation of the myriad markets Burns & Farrey operates in) and clean lines we developed a modern design that also represented the serious nature of their business.

A recurring issue with their old site was that there was no easy way to update content without diving into the backend code. This inflexibility resulted in many sections becoming outdated and eventually redundant. Therefore, a primary goal of ours was to integrate the website with a tool - Craft CMS - that allows practically every aspect of the site to be updated with little to no technical expertise required.

Once we pushed the website live, we aligned Burns & Farrey's marketing materials, including their newsletter and email templates, to the new website branding.

The Results

Burns & Farrey now has an easily updated, responsive and modern website that they can be proud to show clients and job candidates - with marketing materials to match.
